MARLBOROUGH CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

The annual general meeting was held at the Criterion Hotel on Saturday evening, Mr D'Arcy Chaytor, one of the vice-presidents, in the chair. Therminutes of last meeting were read and confirmed, and the balance sheet read. jOh the motion of Mr Bottrell (Blenheim), seconded by Mr Watty (Picton), the balance sheet was passed subject to the* rectification (if necessary) of one item: " Picton subscription £1." : . , Letters were read from. Messrs Raphael and Tapper, honi sees, of the New Zealand Cricket Council; and the report of the meeting of the Council re tbe visit of Lord Hawke's team was also read. '

The Secretary (Mr Bottrell) reported that the Committee had acceded to the Council's request that two professional bowlers might be included in Lord Hawke's team, as otherwise the visit might have been jeopardised; also that in pursuance of the Council's request £100 had been forwarded to the Council, Mr Clifford having advanced the cash. Mr. Clifford was indemnified by ten guarantors. Resolved that the officers of the Association be re-elected and that Mr W. Clifford be elected a Patron of the Association and his name added to the list of officers.

Resolved; That the Hon. E. C. J. Stevens be appointed delegate for the Association to the N.Z. Cricket Council.

Mr Bottrell was re-elected Secretary and Treasurer, and a hearty vote of thanks for his past services was carried unanimously. Resolved, " That Mr Bottrell, Secretary and Treasurer, be authorised to issue subscription lists with a view of reimbursing Mr Clifford the amount of £100 advanced by him, and to indemnify his guarantors in respect of the visit of Lord Hawke's Eleven, and that the post action of tbe Committee and the Secretary re such visit be confirmed.'?

: Resolved, " That the Committee be requested to expend £10 —io. addition to the amount expended by the Wairau O.C—on the outfield ©f the Wairau ground, with a view of preparing it for the forthcoming match, and to raise the amount by subscription,: entertainment, or otherwise." .
