Wellington, September 27. I The boating season was opened, today in miserably cold, showery aiiii ; boisterous weather. The Governor,' was present and gave a short address intnerain, after which there was a"' procession of boats, in which the Wet-; lington, Star, Petone and Horowhenua Clubs and Navals took part. Ten crews competed in a four-oared race, the event being won by Crawford's' crew, Wellington Club. , -
