Britain assumes responsibility for minors' trust money in the Transvaal. Of £280,C00 entrusted with the Orphan Master, only £8000 was invested in accordance with the law. The fugitive republican Government officials seized the balance.
The natives in the Pietersburg district are cheerfully surrendering arms. Received September 29, 9 a.m. London, Septembar 28.
Many fugitive officials seized Transvaal State moneys. They maintain that whatever sums were available were divided amongst different commandos in the Transvaal and Orange State before Kruger's departure.
