RELEASED FROM QUARANTINE.
PROGRESS OF THE INVALIDS.
Wellington, August 14.
A number of troopers who arrived on the Orient wore released from quarantine to day. The Defence Department is arranging to billet them in town for a few days. They go to their homes as soon as possible. All have been vaccinated with good results.
The small-pox patient is reported as doing well, and is likely to recover. Twenty-nine casps of measles are among the Orient troopers, and several cases of colds are still in hospital at Somes Island. To day's report regarding the Britannic's sick is that Lunn, Nicholson and Tonks are very ill ; Tacks and Atkins are improving, and the rest are doing well. Christchurch, August 14.

Private Albert Tonks, of Hokianga, Eighth Regiment, died in the Hospibil to-night from pnonmonia supervening on scarlet fever. Deceased was one of tie men vrho disembarked from the Britannic.
