THE WANGANUI HOSPITAL.
SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS.! [UNITED PREBS ASSOCIATION.] Wanganui, July 25. The following is the report by Dr Macgregor on the hospital scandal to be placed on the table of the House as published by the Herald to-night : — " Inspector General's office, Wellington July 10, 1893.— The Hoa W. P. Reeves— Sir — I have the honor to inform you that according to your inßtrnotions I proceeded to Wanganui and mad* careful enquiry into the allegation! of improper condaat on the part of one of the hospital nurses. I found that the nurse whose conduct is m question had been guilty of impropriety with one of the mala patients a Mr Black, and had consequently neglected her duty ; and also that the authorities had leaned to much to mercy's side m judging her conduct." The Herald says the official report is not m accordance with Dr Maogregor's statement to them, the word impropriety being substituted for immorality.
