AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS.
THE MIDDLESEX MATCH. [united press association.] London, July 24. The Australians went m again at the close of the day and ran up 144 for the lobb of three wickets, bo that they now have a lead of 213 with seven wicketa to fall. Lyons made 51, Giffen 14, Trott 52 (not out), Trumble 24 (not out). Lyons hit grandly ; one straight drive of his clean over the stand was the biggest hit ever seen on the ground. Trott and Trumble both Bcored very freely off the rather weak Middlesex bowling. The 144 were put up m 92 minuteß. Receired July 26, 1045 a.m. London, July 25. In their seoond innings the Australians Eoored 457 runs. Trott put together 145, Gregory 112, and Turner was not out with 65. Trott and Gregory made an excellent stand, and hit the bowling all over the field. Frequent changes were made, but without effeot. Trott was at the wiokets two and a half hours, and his score included twenty-two fours.
