The Mimmi miners have now accepted the terms of the masters, and will sign the agreement with the others out on strike. The Mimmi colleries will commence work on Monday. A man named Thompson, -who on the 29th ult stabbed hia wife m the abdomen with a large butcher's knife, was to-day brought up on a charge of wilful murder. The defence set up was that the death of the woman was accidental, and after the hearing of evidence and the dying deposition of the woman the prisoner was acquitted. • Hobaet, Nov. 15. The E.M.S. lonic arrived from Plymouth at 6 this morning and sails tomorrow morning for New Zealand. She brings 141 passengers for Australia, and has 145 passengers for Now Zealand ports.
