(united pbess association.) • Christchuech, July 6. A single girl named Jane Norris was committed for trial at Kaiapoi to-day for infanticide, m killing her new-born child on June 21. . Capt. Parsons of Femside, and Messrs Chapman of Cbristchurch, Horrell, of West Eyreton, and Higgins, who opposed the late Mr Pearson last election, are mentioned as probable local candidates for the Ashley seat.
