(united press association.) Dunedin, July 6. The delay m receiving the audited accounts was severtfy commented on to-day at the City Council meeting, called to consider them. They are not yet to hand. The following resolution was passed, " That this Council deprecates the delay which'has occurred m auditing the corporation accounts by the Auditor-General's department ; that they strongly , condemn the existing system as earned out by that department, and urge the city members of the House of Representatives to endeavor, wheu the Municipal Corporation Bill is under consideration, to obtain a system of audit more economical, moreexpeditious and satisfactory to the ratepayers of this city." • - WiiLiiKGTON, July 5. A special meeting of the City Council was held this evening to consider resolutions passed at the meeting on Monday last. It was decided that the resolution that the Council Should resign m a body, m consequence of a vote of the ratepayers at a public meeting on the Wellington" Corporation Leasehold and Financial Bill, be withdrawn, and it was held that Council had no authority to bring forward at this meeting a resolution that the bill be withdrawn from Parliament.
