BISHOP NEVILLE ON RELIGIOUS EDUCATION.
(UNWBD MtESS ASSOCIATION.) Ddnbdin, Oot. 25. Tha Anglican Synod was opened this afternoon. Bishop Neville, in his address, dealt with the necessity of Synods formulating a policy for the guidanoe of the whole body, bo that the views of the Church might be known in a concise form, when politicians conld not ignore their views as to religious eduoation. The profound conviction of the Churoh was that the present system was based upon the fatal mistake that seoular knowledge was sufficient. On the question of contributions, he said that giving to the maintenance of the Ohureh should not be looked upon like a complacent offering of * shilling to a beggar.
