A return was circulated this morning showing the total value nf imports for the year 1880 to have been £6,162,011. on which the total duty paid was £1,258.361 ; the value of exports for the same period was £6,3.52,692 ; the value of articles exported for drawback from New Zealand was £2,208. Of the imports, £3,479,217 was from the United Kingdom, and of the exports £4,767,068. The shipping re urns show that during 1880, 166|vessels entered the Wairau, of a total tonnage of 10,185 ttius ; the crews numbered 1904. In the whole of New Zealand during 1880, 16,828 vesu'h entered of a total tonnage of 2,23-, 457, carrying 185,347 men. The total Customs duties collected iv 1880 was £1,258,362; other Customs revenue from rents, fees, &c, £145,563.

A return tabled yesterday shows the value of securities held by Government as follows : —Post Office, L 839,069 ; Public Debts, Sinkinp Funds, L 149,600 ; Government Insurance Department, L 431,90 0; Public Trust Office, L 90.400 j Public Works Account, L 969.70 0; Nelson rtize Fund, L 100 0; Army Constabulary Reward Pnnd, L2OOO.

A suspicion has arisen, that after tablintfall the papers connected with Dr Pollen's pensions, and receiving the order of the House that they be printed, Government withdrew some of [them sending only a portion to the printing office. Sir George Grey has given notice of a question on the snbject.
