WAIRAU ROAD BOARD.
This Board met at the Secretary's office yesterday. Present: Messrs C. Goulter (Chairman), Carter, aud Avery. The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and confirmed. Letters were received from : T. Carter re rates, P. Dillon re Avondale Road, aud the Secretary Omaka Road Board re Dog Point Eoad. The following were the resolutions come to:— " That Mr Dillon be requested to inform the Board what extra fencing is involved between the ro<td now used and the old track, and what compensation he requires." "That thx. Board pay half the cost of metalling that part of the main road at Renwick lying between Dog Point Cross Road, and the boundary of the Omaka Road District." " That the Omaka Road Board be asked if they will allow this Board to make the Road from the Dog Point Cross Road for a distance of 44 chains through the swamps down the Middle Road, and what proportion of cost they are willing to contribute." That tenders be called for levelling 15 chains of the Dog Point Road near the crossing of the Oinaka River. That the stonea be removed from the Dog Point and Wairau Valley roads. That estimates be made and tenders called for repairs to that portion of the Wairau Valley road between the shingly incline and Dead Horse Creek. Tbat specifications and estimates be preprepared foi next meeting for metalling the road from Graham's Cross Road to the Fairhall River. The following accounts were passed for payment :— John Vorbaoh, £4 16s lOd ; J. Tait, £5 18s ; G. H. Bell, £20; J. Dempsey, £11 ss; C. Sniarc, 18s: C. J. W. Griffiths, £14 10s lid : E. Maddock, £25 ; G. Kortb, £2; Neumann Bios., £l ; hospital fund, Ll4l 14s Id. The meeting then adjourned.
