Miss May Howard, the celebrated actress, with Mr Collier, has arrived m Blenheim, aud purpose giving two performances on to-mor-row (Thursday), and Friday evenings. The party is highly spoken of by the Colonial Press, and will no doubt have a good reception.

The collections amounted to £5 la Id. The Church is erected on a half-acre section, given by Mr F. Smith, and has been built by Mr Boyes, of Tua Marina, and we are informed that the work has given great satisfaction to the trustees.

The Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor and all the Councillors being present. The Collector of Rates reported all the rates due as collected, excepting one triflng item, which the Council strnck off on account of the poverty of the occupant referred to. Some few accounts were passed for payment, and a committee appointed to examine the footpaths at Mr Marks' corner, and on the north-side of Wynen-street ; the foot-bridge applied for by Messrs. McCallnm and McLauchlan was agreed to, and the Town Clerk was instructed to call for tenders for Charles Street. Estimates for the ensuing
