SUTHERLAND GOLD-MINING COMPANY.

GENERAL MEETING. The Half-yearly Meeting of the Sutherland Gold Mining Company was held on Monday evening last, at James’ Assembly Rooms. J. Barleyman, Esq., inthe chair. After reading the advertisement convening the meeting, the Chairman called upon the Legal Manager to read the Report of the Directors, which was as follows : Second Report of the. Directors of the Sutherland Gold Mining Company (Registered.) Your Directors in presenting a Report for the half year ended the 30th April, regret that circumstances beyond their control prevent their presenting so full a report as they could have wished, as notwitli standing all efforts, crushing has not commenced. Under the circumstances the Board is of opinion that it is desirable only to report the receipts and expenditure; and as it is hoped that crushing will commence before a week is over, to adjourn this meeting to enable the Board to present an account showing the cost of the several works, the liability of the Company, and generally report their view of the prospects of the mine. It will be the duty of this meeting to elect two Auditors for the year, and one Director in the place of Mr M Artney, whose seat at the Board has become vacant. £ s d The total receipts to the 30th April, including an overdraft of £3lB ICs Id 2209 16 1 Total expenditure to same date 2209 16 1 Harry Pitt, Legal Manager. Dated 29bh May, 1871. The report was unanimously adopted, and S. L. Muller and B. O. Waddy, Esqrs., wei’e elected auditors. W. H. Eyes, Esq., was duly proposed as a Director, but considering his necessary absence during the sitting of the Legislature, he declined. Mr F. T. Farmer was then unanimously elected a Director, and the meeting adjourned for three weeks.
