STRANGE STORY. A_.remarkable story was told at Dublin City Commission when Annie Glynn, who was found guilty of trying to s'hoot William, Gerty, was charged with bigamy. A deed of separation was drawn up between her and her husband, William Glvnn, and in 1911, said counsel, she "married" Gerty at Holyhead. William Gerty said he was asked' to pay £IOO to secure a divorce and to compensate -Mr Glynn, and he paid £25. solicitors' costs and £SO compensation. After the husband and wife had separated lie made payments to tlio husband, the wile telling him lie would have to pay as the divorce had been obtained. Ihe Lord Chief Justice said that if the woman believed, as she probably did, that the deed of separation effected a complete divorce she ought to be ao quit-ted. The jury found her not guilty. A charge against Gerty of aiding and abetting was withdrawn. 'She was also discharged in the casei in which she was found guilty on the previous Thursday, on giving u promise not to molest Gerty again.
