llr Minnott. who has been for 40 years in Iho employ of the Nmv Zealand I insurance Company, has retired'(states a .Sydney Press Association cable), A MasteMon Press Associationtelegram siatos that Mr John MeEae, of Weriti Station, who gave £IOOO this week to the Y.M.C.A., died yesterday morning at the age of 55 years. The death' is announced in' .Wellington of Hev. J. J. Pendray, a retired minister of the-Methodist Free Church in New Zealand and .subsequently of the United Church. He leaves a widow and a. married daughter. A Christehureli Press Association message announces the death of Mir Isaac Gibbs', for many years general manager of the Now Zealand Shipping Company, which occurred this morning' at the age of 63 years. Deceased had been suffering from heart trouble for some time. Mr P. G. Morgan, M.A. (Director of Geological Survey), returned to Gore this morning from an inspection of the Waikaia district. Mr Morgan left for Lawrence this afternoon from whence | he will proceed to Macraes, returning to Wellington next week. Mr Morgan hopes to revisit Otago next summer.
