The maxim, "The loive of money is the root of all evil," was fullly exemplified at last evening's entertainment afc the Theatre ltoyal in an excellent film entitled "Tho Man vho which described in an interesting manner a woman's love for gold, wh "h resulted in her downfall. "Famous Scout to the Rescue" and "Old Moddington's Daughters" were Loth films of distinct merit, portraying many thrilling incidents. including clever feats of horsemanship. An A. 15. drama entitled "A Detective's Stratagem," depicting a famous. bank robbery proved a very interesting presentation, while an' A.K. dramatic study, "A True, Heart in a' Savage Beast,' was of almost equal' interest. "A .Modern Steel Plant" was a most instruct ve film, while several comedies created much merriment. Mr A. Burrowes supplied the incdental music. The programme will be repeated this and to-morrow evening. PRINCESS THEATRE. The patrons of tho, Princess Theatre were well satisfied last evening with the) picture entertainment submitted. The] programme opened with a capital re-| presentation of the London Lord! .Mayor's Show, followed bv an interesting presentation of a fox hunt. "What's Bred in tho Bono" deputed how a child of a. colored race, brought up in. Western civilisation, returned to its childhood's environment after reaching the age of discretion. "Travelling in the Caucausus" was a really fine travel picture. The "star" p'cture, entitled "Mimosa San," featuring Saharet, tlve Japanese Geisha. who fe-'l inj love with an American naval officer, proved of particular interest. Another} good picture, "When Society Calls," j illustrated how a life-of frivolity sometimes brings disaster to loved ones needing a mother's care. The comioj element was as usual well selected, andj "Tho Woman with Iron Muscles" and other pictures complete an exceedingly popular programme.
