Government steamer, Lady Laurier, has been despatched to endeavor to locate the wreck. Much wreckage has come ashore- off I the coast of Nova Scotia, but it is not j known if it belongs to the Cobequid. Gales continue along the Atlantic! coast, and there are terrific snowstorms j at sea and New York.

THE STEAMER SICHTED.

PASSENGERS BELIEVED SAFE. Received January 15, 1.30 p.m. ST. JOHN'S, Jan. 14. The Cobequid has been sighted on Trinity Ledges. Tho passengers are believed to be safe.
