Before the Dominion's Commission Mr Austin Wilson, of the Hull-Barnes-ley railway, who recently toured) Australia and New Zealand, advocated a regular steamship service for developing new markets and recommended a moderate subsidy from the oveaseas dlominions for at least a year until the service became self-supporting. Mr Ross Johnson, the general manager of the port of Bristol testified as to the inadequate steamship service to Australia and New Zealand, adding that New Zealand and other overseas counr tries asked for better facilities for trading with the large area directly served through Bristol. Three blue books: of the minutes ofi the evidence taken by the Dominion's Commission in Australia and New Zealand have been issued, 662. pages being devoted to the Commonwealth and 233 to New Zealand. .
