| MAIL STEAMER IN DISTRESS. I BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH COPYRIGHT. PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. Received January 14, 12.10 p.m. | NEW YORK, Jan. 13. The Royal mail steamer Cobiquid, bound from the West Indies to Halifax, is ashore at Briar Island. Wireless reported that her position is highly dangerous. There are 150 persons aboard. Tugs have been despatched. A terrific storm is raging. Later the wreless messages ceased, and it is feared that the vessel has foundered.
