CLEARING SALE AT MATAURA. Messrs Wright. Stephenson and 00., Ltd.. report as follows:—We held a most successful clearing sale on account of Messrs Roxby Bros., "Waimuinu House," Mat an ra on Monday. There ■was a representative gathering of farmers. and bidding throughout the sale was spirited. The sheep were in good order and sold at full market rates. The vendors are to be congratulated on the arrangements of the sale and for the excellent manner in which the wants of the inner man were provided for. The thanks of the auctioneers and public are due to Mrs Roxby and lady helpera in this respect. Following are some of the sales effect^!:—6l 2-tooth ewes 16s 8d 57 wethers 15s, 113 cull! ewes Bs, 200 4 and 6-tooth ewes 19s! lOd, 307 8-tooth ewes 17s 2d, 269 2 and j 4-tooth wethers 15s. 96 fat ewes 14s | lOd. 218 fat ewes 10s 6d. 778 lambs : 13s Bd, 58 cull lambs 9s Id, 1 ram 2gns, 1 do. ligns, 1 filly (unbroken) £2O, draught lhare and foal £2O, black gelding £9 10s.
