CLEARING SALE AT MATAURA. Messrs Wright. Stephenson and 00., Ltd.. report as follows:—We held a most successful clearing sale on account of Messrs Roxby Bros., "Waimuinu House," Mat an ra on Monday. There ■was a representative gathering of farmers. and bidding throughout the sale was spirited. The sheep were in good order and sold at full market rates. The vendors are to be congratulated on the arrangements of the sale and for the excellent manner in which the wants of the inner man were provided for. The thanks of the auctioneers and public are due to Mrs Roxby and lady helpera in this respect. Jersey heifer £ls 10s, black cow £8 15s_ red cow £lO, roan heifer £5 7s 6d, 2 heifers £3. pig £4 ss, pig £3 15a. gig £2O harness £5 ss, engine £lB 10s. boring machine £2, spring-cart £l3 15s, dray £5 12s 6d, tripod harrows £5. and other sundries at full market value.
