The Tasmanians' second innings occupied 212 minutes and was generally uninteresting. Showers fell, but the weather was frequently fine and bright. The attendance w«i» small. England got the required runs in 39 minutes. Hearne hit two sixes and gave a display of sparkling batting. HAWKE CUP MATCH.

NELSON, Jan. 25. There docs not seem much probability of another Hawke Clip cricket game, at not for some months. To-day tho Kelson Association' advised the local i ontrolling body that it could not get a team away. The South Auckland chaljlengors advised that holiday time would he the only suitable period for their coming south, and suggested that probably the game could be arranged to take place about Easter period. This latter request would be considered at tomorrow's meeting of the Southland Association. "
