24-HOURS' MAN HUNT.

A. hunt for two men soon in a Glasgow warehouse on a recent Sunday afternoon was just about to be given up as hopeless when two men—ollo barefooted and the other with his feet swathed in bandages—emerged from the buildings, which are situate in the very heart of the city. Police and spectators gave chase and both fugitives were captured. One, however, struck down his captors and made good his oscape.

The hunt commenced after a jioivermin had sc(-ti two men moving sr.spicionsly about a warehouse. A body of polico and fi?*ernon was summo:i«i, a cordon was drawn round a large bicrk of buildings, and a systematic search was instituted. Dozens of warehouses were diligently overhauled, roofs were sfarched, and every crack and orannv investigated. But, apart from discarded clothes,* boots, and a skeleton key, nothing rewarded tne hunters.

The man arrested was in a state of collapse. His scanty clothing was rainsoaked, while exposure and want of food had so weakened him ihat ho \vm, almost unable to stand. It is surmise! that both men lay hidden on one of the roofs for nearly 24 hours. The'r plight must have been a miserable one, ,nd it is supposed that hunger and cold were tho causes of an ultimate dash for liberty.
