THE SCHOOL EXCURSION.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Our annual excursion took plat© yesterday with tlio usual amount of drunkenness—only more so. I think it disgraceful, Sir, that one's children should ho subjected to this disgusting •sight, and if the school committee canl.ot manage differently the excursion should ho abandoned for the future. I do not think the committee aro to bo blamed—far from it. The committee acted yesterday in an admirable manner, drunks being ejected continually from the carriages, but only to come back again to the annoyance of peaceful citizens.

This excursion is supposed to bo an outing for tho children, and I say, Sir, that something should be done. If tho school committee really wants to make a profitable coHcern of this excursion why not take the children to some place- where liquor is not obtainable ?

Yesterday's outing showed a. falling off in tlio returns, I understand, and in the future it will bo more marked.—J am, etc., PARENT. East Gore, January 20.
