A steward and a seaman were washed overboard. A LONG PASSAGE. AUCKLAND, Nov. 2. After a lengthy passage of 31 days from Wellington to Auckland the big Italian sailer Australia arrived this afternoon. The vessel left Wellington on October 5 with the balance of her cargo of tiles from Marseilles. Under ordinary circumstances the sailer should have accomplished the trip in 12 days, but she encountered the heavy storms and gales so prevalent about a fortnight ago and was blown out of her course. Considerable anxiety is felt for the vessel's safety.
