BUSINESS MAN'S HACK. When the Cunarder Mauritania leaves Liverpool to-day in her attempt to cross to New York and back —a distance of 6000 miles —in twelve days, ir. order that her American mails may be delivered in England before Christmas, one of her passengers will he i-.lr George Leal, a business an, who will begin a remarkable series of travels (savs the 'Daily Mail' of December .10). Mr Leal hopes to reach New York next Thursday, catch the midnight train to Boston, transact some business, board the next midnight train from Boston to New York, and get a berth in the Mauretania before she leaves on the Saturday again for England. The Mauretania, it is expected, will reach Fishguard on the Thursday before Christmas. Mr Leal will endeavor to be in London by seven o'clock on the Thursday night. Then he will cross the Channel to and after spending a day there will rush back to England to catch a steamer for Capetown. To prevent delay in New York to the Mauretania in her record-breaking voyage 80,000 pieces of linen —sufficient for the double journey—have been placed aboard in Liverpool.
