They fired bullets through the roof, and ordered the motorman to secure the passengers' jewels and money. There were 22 passengers in the car. One passenger fired, wounding a robber, and the latter replied, the bullet piercing the passenger's coat and dropping harmlessly into his pocket. The desperadoes fled, but a sheriff's posse afterwards captured the wounded robber. A bullet had perforated both his cheeks. A second passenger was shot in the chest during the robbers' first fusilade.
