TRAMCAR HELD UP.
MASKED ROBBERS. PASSENGERS' ORDEAL. BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.—COPYRIGHT. PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION NEW YORK, Jua. 26. Masked robbers boarded an electric car on the outskirts of Santa Monica. They fired bullets through the roof, and ordered the motorman to secure the passengers' jewels and money. There were 22 passengers in the car. One passenger fired, wounding a robber, and the latter replied, the bullet piercing the passenger's coat and dropping harmlessly into his pocket. The desperadoes fled, but a sheriff's posse afterwards captured the wounded robber. A bullet had perforated both his cheeks. A second passenger was shot in the chest during the robbers' first fusilade.
