ALLEGATIONS OF "GRAFT."

♦ SENSATION IN CANADA. BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.—COPYRIGHT. PEE UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. Received January 27, 8.10 a.m OTTAWA, Jan. 26. During a sitting of the Commission .if Investigation into the question of Chinese immigration Mr Joseph Martin (British M.P.) charged the Liberal party throughout British Columbia with wholesale corruption and alleged that Sir Wilfrid Laurier (Prime Minister) was primarily blameworthy for the "graft" which permeated every department of the Federal Government. Conflicting evidence was given as to whether Hon. W. Templeman (Federal Minister for Inland Revenue and Mines) had stated confidentially that he desired the Royal Commission on Immigration to be stopped. Mr Templeman will be summoned to give evidence on the point.
