Presiding at a crowded meeting of manufacturers in connection wjih the I proposed all-British shopping week in connection with the Festival of Empire in June next, Lord Desborough commended the Australian definition of British goods at 25 per cent, of-British workmanship. As an outcome of the success of the "all-British shopping" movement, arrangements are being made to hold a Fair of Fashions in conjunction with the Festival of Empire, confined to goods of British material or manufacture. Many Continental costumiers and milliners had applied for space at the International Fashions Exhibition, ' a scheme which was abandoned in favor of the all-British idea. ' (
