THE FIRST GRADUATES. PER UNITED J'RUSS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, Jan. 26. Dr Pickerell (of the Dental School) advises that A. J. Hansen, C. E. Hcrcus and W. S. Seed have passed the final or second professional examination for the degree of Bachelor of Denial , Surgery. Those arc the first graduates in dental surgery in New Zealand. The Atlienic arrived at 4.50 p.m. yesterday, bringing 611 passengers, including 50 of the Sedgwick boys (for farmers here). At one stage on the journey there were 916 passengers on board. • Of th© New Zealand passengers 158 were booked for Wellington, 175 to Auckland, 93 to Lyttelton, 32 to Dunedin, 24 to Bluff. 21 to New Plymouth, and 20 to Timani. The assisted passengers number 117. Forty-nine domestics, 24 farm laborers and eight farmers came by the vessel, as also did 20 wives who are rejoining their husbands. The Sedgwick boys were met by Hon. G. Fowlds (Minister for Immigration) and Mr Tregear (Secretary for Labor), both of whom addressed them.
