Results:— Middleton Hurdles.—Snip 1, Leon--1 ardo 2, Playmato 3. Won by three lengths. Time, 3min 21sec. Criterion Handicap.—Chanteuse 1, Truganini 2, Count Witte 3. All started. A iino finish. Won by a neck, Count Witte a similar distance away. Time, lmin 28 3-osec. Epsom High-Weight Handicap.—Los Angeles 1, Passion 2, Pellicle 3. Scratcred: Rose Noble. Won by half a length, Pellicle two lengths away. Time, lmin 15 3-ssec. Derby.—Husbandman 1, St. Aidan 2, Diabolo 3. WINTON RACES. FIRST DAY. The clube were favored with line weather, and the utendautee was good. The fields were large, and some interesting racing was witnessed. The only ground for complaint was on account of the delays in getting the races off, and the. consequent lateness of the hour when the last race was finished. Nine bookmakers were licensed at fees aggregating £llO. The totalisator investments amounted to £3667, as comparedSvith £4083 for tho corresponding day of last year's meeting, and £3031 for the previous year.
