Owing; to the drought in CanlerWy and Dtaso considerable areas of wheat; and oats have been either fed off or aro not north cutting. It is estimated that in Canterbury 20011 acres ol wheat .ami 0000 acres of oats have been so dealt with. Jn Otatro a much larger area is affected—3ooo acres of wheat and 15,000 acres of oats. Therefore a deduction in tho abovementioned tables may bo looked for. Tni-nips and rape also suffered, and at least, 20,000 acres in each district of the former and 5000 acres in Canterbury and 1500 acres in Otago of the latter, must be deducted.
