SAVED FROM LYNCHING.

Tho tragedies oi fiction have few parallels so dramatic us that which surrounded the killing by a Brooklyn (New York) tram recently of a little buy whose mother led a hand of avengers. They overturned the tram, and were about to lynch the driver, when' the father of the child, the driver of a heavy waggon which had run over and killod by uco,idcnt another little boy a year ago, came upon the scene. Moved by his own agony of regret, this man went to the rescue of the motorman anil saved liini from a violent death. Tlio father frankly declared that the tramdriver did not want to kill the child, and was probably as sorry for the accident as anyone standing round. When the mother mid other spectators first saw the mangled remains of the child they rushed for the driver, and the father's sudden appearance undoubtedly saved him from probably fatal violence.
