RIFLE SHOOTING.

MATAURA MOUNTED RIFLES, Tho final match for the Halleiistein clock was fired by the Mataura Mounted RiHes on Wednesday oi last week. The weather was very rough and wet and shooting in consequence poor. Corp. Earle won the clock with an aggregate of 291. In all 22 fired through the competition, as under : Corp. Earle -211, Tr. Mill 207. MATAURA RIFLE CLUB. The Club fired the fourth match of the season yesterday in fine weather. the conditions being seven shots at 200 and 500 yards. Shooting at the 200 yards range the light was bright and wind steady, resulting in some good scoring. At the longer distance the light and wind" became changeable, which made good shooting diflicult.
