FASHIONABLE WEDDING.

BEGG-MACARTHUR. Our lady reporter writes:—A fashionable wedding took place at the. Gore Presbyterian Church yesterday, the contracting parties being Miss Adele Begg, youngest daughter of Mr R. L. Begg, formerly of Mataura, and Mr J. M. S. Macarthur, of Dalgcty and Co., Dunedin, and formerly of Gore. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Wright, of Oamaru (uncle of tho bride), assisted by the Rev. J. M. * Davidson. As the bridal party moved up the aisle the "Wedding March' was played by Mrs J. B. Patcrson. The bride (who was given away by Mr A. A. MacGrbbxro, her brother-in-law) wore a handsome robe of duchesse satin, the bodice having berthe of point lace over accordoonpleated chiffon, the yoke being of gathered chiffon covered with pendant pearls. The skirt was veiled with flowered chiffon and had a square-cut train. She also carried a beautiful . shower bouquet, and wore a pearl star pendant, the gifts of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids were Miss Sterndale (cousin of the bride) and Miss Elsie Green. The former wore cream Japanese silk and a largo while chiffon picture hat trimmed with Tangerine roses, and the latter a cream silk voile costume, Tangerine silk belt and large white chiffon picture hat trimmed with Tangerine roses. The bridesmaids wore gold crescent brooches with pearl hearts, and carried lovely shower bouquets of white and yellow flowers—the gifts of the bridegroom. The best man was Mr James Macarthur, brother of tho bridegroom, the groomsman being Mr R L. Begg, brother of the bride. Alter the ceremony the guests drove to "The Retreat," where a most sumptuous wedding breakfast was. served. Tho happy couple left by the afternoon express en route for llanmer. The bride's going-away costume was of navy blue cloth and she aiso wore a smart blue and white straw hat. , , . , .. Mrs A. A. MacGrbbon (sister of the bride) wore a very stylish toilette of blue silk voile and large black picture hat. Mrs E. Collins (sister of fhe bride) black costume and black hat ; Mrs J. Wright (Oamaru), black men-., smart black and white bonnet; Miss Wright, cream voile costume, black hat; Miss W. Wright, vieus rose voile black hat; Mrs Stcrndale (Timnru), black dress ; Miss Macafthur, cream voile, black picture hat ; Miss Margaret Macarthur, white silk, black picture hat; Miss Fielding (Invcrcargill), white voile gown, white picture hat ; Mrs Penny (Mataura), claret silk costume, black hat : Miss Fowler (Mataura), cornflower blue costume, white hat trimmed with blue flowers ; Mrs E. MacGrbbon, black silk, hat en suito; Mrs J. MacGibJion, black tcstume, hat to match ; Mrs J. M. Davidson, black silk, bonnet of black uid heliotrope ; Mrs A. Gray, brown costume, hat to match. The gifts received by the ne.vlywedded couple were of a valuable and extremely handsome nature, and included also a massive silver tea and coffee tenicc and case of pipes presented to the bridegroom by the staff of Dalgety ami Co.. Dunedin. During last week the bride was entertained to afternoon t«fas at Mrs Bowler's and Miss Green's for tho purpose of bidding good-bye to her many girl . friends.
