Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows We sold Mr Concannon's farm (65 acreß) at Makarewa, being part of sections 44 and 45, block 9, Invercargill Hundred, to Mr Henry George. We also report having sold Mr Samuel Barwell's farm, situated near Otautau, being sections 10, 12, 13, 14, 28, 29, 30, 31, and dosed roads in block 1, Aparima Hundred, containing 420 acres 0 roods 20 poles, to Mr Alex. Boy, of Mossbarn. LARGE LAND SALE. Messrs I. W. Raymond and Co. report as follows: — We sold the Woodslee Downs Estate, Toi Toi district, which comprises over 14,000 acres of freehold, and some 3000 acres of educational endowment land. This estate is condered by experts to be one of the finest in Otago—taking into account its extensive area. The late Mr W. H. Mein spent a fortune in reducing the fern, tutu and flax land intD cultivated grass paddocks. Situated as it is within three miles of the Waimahaka station, with the prospect of the extension of the I Seaward Bush line through it, it would not be surprising to see a portion of it acquired by the Government. In that case it would be rapidly taken up and could not fail to prove a prosperous settlement. Mr Joseph Preston, of Tokonui estate and Longlands station, is the enterprising purchaser, and he is to be congratulated upon becoming owner of such a splendid estate. The figure fixed was a high one, but reasonable in comparison to the quality of the soil and the situation of the estate. The Btock comprised some 12,000 sheep and 500 head of cattle.
