INVERCARGILL MARKETS.
Messrs Whight, Stisphenson and Co. report having held their 'fortnightly sale in the Invereargill yards on Tuesday, when 100 fat and 159 store cattle and 43G fat and 1689 store sheep were penned. Harvest operations no doubt nccounted for the very meagre attendance. Following is a list of prices obtained : — . Fat Cattle — An extra prime bullock brought £8 17s Gd and an extra heavy cow £7; liebter bullocks, £G 10s to £7; cows and heifers, £3 15s to £5 ss. Fat Sheep— Wethers, 14s Gd to 15s 3d ; ewes, 13s to 14s 3d for medium quality; light and aged, 10s Gd to 12s ; lambs, 11s to 12s 3d. Store Sheep — Young breeding ewes, 14s to 15s 3d ; full-mouthed do, lls to 12s 9d ; aged, 8s to 9s Gd ; well-woolled lambs, 10s to 10s 9d ; wethers and maiden ewes, up to 14s.
