In pursuance of the powers vested in it by " The Municipal Corporations Act, 188G," and of all other powera thereunto enabling it, the Borough of Mataura doth make and ordain the folio ving By-law, to be in force within the said Borough on and after the sth day of July, 1897. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Meeting of the Borough Council of Mataura will be held on MONDAY, the sth day of July, 1897, at 3 o'clock p.m., for the purpose oi Confirming the following Resolution, adopted at a Special Meeting of the said Council, duly convened and held on Saturday, the sth day of June, 1897 :— ! 1. One-half of the cost of constructing the footways in Bridge Street and Kana Street in the said Borough, which were constructed by the Mataura Town Board, shall be charged upon I the owners or occupiers of the lands and buildiDgs fronting on such foot--1 ways, in proportion to the length of i the footway which adjoins the lands j or buildings respectively of such I owners or occupiers. 2.
