+ . Friday, Nov. 6. The monthly meeting of the Board, held . at Inverearfeill, was attended hy the chairman s ( rT. MaeGibbon), and Messrs R. McNab, - G. McLeod, G-. Froggatt, A. Baldey, J. W, ( Bain, and James Mackintosh. j The Executive Committee reported : — That t the following appointments had been made : c East Chatton, James B. Gilchrist, head ( teacher; Arrow, David M. Greig, head ■ teacher ; Gore, Angus McNeil, temporary ( assistant teacher. That the following tenders had been accepted: Maitlaud Village, new school, William Penrose, £126 ; Mabel, - painting and repairs £12 10s, John E. Eldred. That subject to the approval of t the Lumsden Committee, an exchange of j positions had been effected between Mr W. j H. Clark, first assistant of Invercargill Middle School ,and Mr C. W. G. Selby, head '. teacher at Lumsden. That the Mabel Committee had been informed that in consequence •, of the reduced average attendance their school was not entitled to the services of a ; pupil teacher. ' The following applications were granted : — Wyndham, half cost of ashphalting floor of shelter shed ; and Wendonside, painting and repairs to school buildings. The Ard- ' lufsa Committee's application for an addition , to the teacher's residence was refused. ; The ai'chitect was instructed : (1) to pre- ■ pare plans for a teacher's residence at Niag- ' ara ; to report on applications for repairs and ' painting at Hnkonui, Ferndale, Knapdale, ' Wyndham, and Athol ; (3) to report on the Croydon Siding Committee's application for alteration to school furniture ; (4) to supply blinds at Hedgehope, and to report ou the ■ Mabel Committee's application for half costs of gravelling the school grounds. A new district was constituted at Maifcland Village, and the boundaries adopted. Alter- ; ations in the boundaries of Wuikiika, Chatton, and Waikaka Valley were agreed to. Accounts amounting to £2604 14s lOd ■were passed for payment. I •
