The Mutual Agency Co., of N.Z., Ltd., report prices as under at their weekly auction on August 12 : — Oats— Competition slightly keener than last week, but prices do not show any improvement. Long Tartars, Is lftjd ; black, Is Sid ; best sparrowbills, Is 8d ; good feed, Is 7jd to Is 7£d, (ex trucks), medium, Is 7d ; crushed Is 7sd. Wheat— Brisker bidding and prices firm, Red, 3s lid ; fowl feed, 3s 5Jd to 3s 9d. Barley — Market inclined to improve a little. Medium, 2s 2£d to 2 9 5d ; feed, Is SM to 2s. Potatoes— Weak except for really good lots. Best 345. Turnips— Scarce and demand cood for prime lots. Best .Swedes, (in bags), 225. Carrots— ln good demand, 39* to 40s. Chaff— Market firm and prices better tban last week. Best, 653 to 10$ ; medium, 55s to 603 ; atrave ohaff, 45s to 465.
