The Hutton-McDonald Company.

1 A strong point in favor of thia compact little organisation is tbat a performance is presented— if we may take last night's bill aB a criterion— free of anything (nitre. For thiß relief, much thanks— especially as too many of the travelling entertainers nowadays rely upon coarse jokes and questionable allusions, by way of pandering to the taste of a depraved section of their audiences. The company in question has a good vocalist in Mr D. Hutton, who is gifted with a fine baritone register, and an equally meritorious elocutionist in Mr W. McDonald, \show forte is pawky Scotch reoitals. Neither gentleman spared himself last evening, and their efforts were well received. Mrs Neave, a wellknown lady amateur, lent valuable assistance, Eingiog •• Killuney" and "It was a Dream " with much acceptance, and also taking psrt with Mr Hutton in tbe duet, <« When the Wind Blowa off the Sea." A couple of flute solos were artistically played by Mr A. McDonald, of Milton, one being encored. In tbe second part of the programme several series of limelight views were Bhown, and in all great interest was manifested. Particularly was tbis the case in the series representing " The Fireman's Wedding," and "The Boad to Heaven," those being the recitals told in story by Mr McDonald ; and "Oro Pro Nobis " and "/The Village Blacksmith," in which tha son^s bearing theie names were Bung by Mr Hutton, _h?re was a good attendance, and everyone appeared well satisfied with the performance. The company appears again in the Town Hall to»morrow night in a complete chioge of programme.
