That a large number of your petitioners, putting full confidence in the promises ' made by your honorable House that a line of railway be consrructed to meet the requirements of the district, purchased land on the Education reserves at prices far in advance of its real value, and now find owing to the distance (20 miles) to the nearest available railway station, that the cost^pf carriage renders it impossible to work .tte land without certain loss to the producer.
