Per Press Association. Wellington, Sept 20. It appears from Mr Creighton’s letter to Government that it is very doubtful whether the offer of the United States Government to increase tho mail subsidy is intended for one year or is not contingent upon the contract being continued for a period. When the mail left Mr Creighton was in communication with tho Postmaster-Gen end at Washington upon tho subject, but no definite answer had been roceivcd at that time.
