Derailment of a Railway Carriage.

Tho north express was delayed an hour and a half to-day by tho derailment of a carriage, half-a-rnile north of Hook. Tho engine ran into a cow just before going on to the tressle bridge, carried her to the bridge and dropped her into the first space between tho sleepers. Tho engine passed over the carcase but the first carriage, a long composite truck, run against it and was derailed and went bumping over tho sleepers all the way over the bridge. The “ Hans Boatman” Company were in tho car and were considerably shaken and startled. The cow was cut to atoms and strewn all along tho line. Tho car was damaged by bumping and was temporarily patched with fencing wire and was cut off at the first wayside station.
