The debate cn Mr Buchanan’s motion censuring’ the Speaker of the House concluded last night, when a division was taken and the motion negatived by 55 to 5. Adelaide, July 11.
The revenue for the financial year has exceeded tho expenditure by £IOI,OOO. This will enable the Government to reduce the deficit existing on June of last year to £1,000,000. Melbourne, July 11.
Tho brig Restless from Sydney, which was disabled during a heavy gale, has arrived safely. The master reports that the force of the hurricane strained the vessel severely, causing her to leak badly. Subsequently the vessel was thrown on her beam ends and the masts bad to be cut away to save her. At one time there were eight feet of water in the hold and the brig was only kept alloat by the crew working at the pumps continuously.
