Persistent reports are being received at Suakim that a white man, probably Stanley, has arrived at Bahulghazee, after conquering the whole country through which he passed. The Liberal Unionists have resolved to support the withdrawal of the licensing clauses in the local Government Bill, provided the Government will allow the debate on Mr Cochran Stephenson’s Sunday Closing Bill. Mr H. Smith leader of the House of Commons has agreed to the proposal. The Southland Estates Company of New Zealand, with a capital of £185,000 has been, registered. There was great excitement towards the fininish of the cricket match between the Australians and M.C.C. and Ground. When the latter resumed their second innings to-day they required 23 runs to get to win, and had three wickets to fall. The bowling of the visitors was, however, too good, and the remaining wickets only added nine runs, the innings closing for 110, leaving the Australians victors by fourteen. Turner secured six wickets for 52 runs, and Warrall two for 9.
