MARLBOROUGH LAND BOARD.

Present: Messrs 11. Of. Clarke (Commissioner, in tlxe chair), E. Paul and Or. Dodson.

Leave of absence was granted to Mr A. S. Collins, Kaikoura. It was resolved that the tenders to he invited in accordance with the Board’s resolution of May 7, bo opened at the next regular meeting of the Board, and that in calling for such tenders, a condition he made that the highest or any tender shall not necessarily be accepted. The Commissioner stated that he had added to the minute in reference to the reletting of the runs the term for which aro about to expire, • that tho term and upset rent should he respectively 14 years and 2d per acre per annum, that being the term and rental under the present licenses.^ It was resolvod that in the opinion of the Board it is advisable to declare the undermentioned sections open for disposal at the following prices : —District of Pelorus Sound, Kaiuma, section 15, 55 acres, price £2B; part 2, of 16, 28 acres, price £l4; section 14, 37 acres 2 roods, £l9; section 18, 98 acres, £49. District of Pelorus Yalley: section 91, 34 acres 2 roods 23 perches, price £lB. District of Kaikoura Suburban: Sec. 325, 21a lrd 22pls, L 22 ; 326,21a lrd 22pls, L 22 ; 327, do, do; 343, 17a 3rd spls, L 36 ; 343, 13a , 3rd Bpls, L2B. It was declared that, subject to the consent of the Governor-iu-Council, seotions 325, 326, 327, 342 and 343, district of Kaikoura , Suburban, should cease to bo suburban land, and should he classed as rural land.

Mrs Harriet Beauchamp applied for a pastoral licenso over 630 acres (estimated area) at the back of sections 85, 147, 148, 149, 150, Okiyva Bay, Linkwater Survey District. — Resolved that subject to approval of the Governor-in-Council, a pastoral license under part VI., Land Act, he offered at public auction. Term to he 10 years; upset annual rent, Id per acre. AY. T. Erskine applied for a

small grazing run leaso under part YU of the Land Act, over about 500 acres between sections 64 and 21 (on tho east) and section 1., block AH., Linkwater Survey District (on the west at Mahon Sound). —Resolved, That the necessary steps he taken to have tho block applied for put up to auction as a small grazing run, at the upset annual rental of 3d per acre. A Simpson wrote, stating that he would, like to have a small grazing run of about 390 acres, at Broughton Bay, put up to auction.—lt was decided to put it up to auction at the next sale, at the upset annual rental of 3d per acre, subject to the modification of I area and boundary after survey. 1 The application of Huma Hamnera for a leaso of section 65 —an

island in the Pelorus River—for two years, for the purpose of cultivation, with the right of removing flax, was refused by the Board. Evan Jones applied for a timber license over a portion of land to be surveyed for perpetual lease. The Board decided to grant a timber license over the land for a period of one year, such to be terminable as soon as the perpetual lease is granted. An application for 200 acres of land in Waitohi district to be surveyed that it might be put up for sale by auction, was approved of for survey. It was decided to put section 15, Kaikoura suburban, consisting of 53 acres 27 perches, up to auction at next sale. The upset price was fixed at LI 59 11s. The date of sale is to be fixed by the Commissioner. The Board then adjourned.
