A sensation has been caused throughout Europe by the publication of details of a plot to assassinate the Crown Prince and Princo Bismarck. The Berlin police have been informed that several mechanicians and electricians in London are constructing an infernal machine with which the assassination was to he effected. Two youths resident in Berlin, were, it is said, chosen to feommit the deed. As yet no arrests have been made. May 4. A Government crisis is imminent in Prussia in consequence of the Emperor hesitating to promulgate the act prolonging Diet until freedom of elections is guaranteed. It is reported that Russia intends to raise an impost duty on refined sugar of 60s per 100 kilos, and on raw, 40s. London, June 3.

Melbourne, June 4. The Exhibition building is now approaching completion. Annexes have been constructed on the eastern and northern sides. The total area covered by the buildings is 33 acres, which far ecliuses the spice occupied by the Exhibition buildings of 1380. The space allotted for electric lighting will be marvellous. The body of a young woman named Flora Cartwright has been found at the bottom of a well in Charters Towers, and a young nian named Thomas Donovan, with whom she had been keeping company, has been arrested on a charge of murder.
