The report on tho annual valuation of the city states tho value of ruteahle property to be £228,899, an increase of £II,OOO on the valuation of last year. Tho Lighting Committee of tho City Council have been authorised to invite tenders for lichtimr the city by electricity. It was stated that the Cujumitteo had already had an offer which would furnish eight times as much light as the present gas system at a cost of several hundreds S j ear less.
