Received Jan 19, 10. p.m. Sydney, Jan. 19. Sir Henry Parkes has accopted the Grand Cross of St Michael and St George. 1 Further deaths have been reported from sunstroke. The heat yesterday was 101 in the shade here, and in the country 114. The weather is cool to-day. The swollen corpse of a man has been discovered in the city water supply basin. From appearances it had been immersed foijir days. J The Postal Conference met here to-day, but no business was transacted beyond the election of a chairman, Mr Rober being chosen for that position. Hobart, Jan 19. At the Federal Council to-day the Queensland fishoi’y proposals were approved and passed. Tho next sitting of the Council has been fixed for February 10th, 1889 and it will adjourn to-morrow. Brisbane, Jan 19. Two deaths have occurred here from sunstroke. The heat was 117 in the shade to-day.
